Muhaimin Iskandar is one of the politicians and activists who served as members of the House of Representatives. He has been very active since becoming a student at Gadjah Mada University and a member of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII). Muhaimin is very fond of the field of journalists, even postgraduate took communications management program at a State University in Jakarta.
As a container of his struggle, his political career began when he and his senior Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) co-founded the National Awakening Party (PKB). At the beginning of the history of the establishment of PKB, Muhaimin became one of the Assistance Team formed by the Nahdlatul Ulama Board (PBNU). The team is tasked with assisting the Five Nations Teams in carrying out inventory and summarizing proposals from nahdliyin people who want to form a political party. Quoted from Kompas.com, at the release of Bappilu PKB on 26 March 2008, Mahfud MD as a constitutional judge continues to be a joint meeting of the Chairman of DPP PKB who discussed the emergence of the issues of parties who want to hold an Extraordinary Congress. The issue was assessed to shake Gus Dur from the Chairman of the Syuro Council of PKB. The internal meeting finally led to the removal of Muhaimin Iskandar from the position of Chairman of the PKF Tanfidz Council. Of the 30 people present, 20 chose the option for Muhaimin to resign, 5 support for MLB, 3 votes for MLB and 2 abstentions. In the vote, Gus Dur, Muhaimin, and Machfud MD were not eligible.
PKB Muhaimin on April 14, 2008, officially filed a lawsuit in South Jakarta District Court. Muhaimin sued the Chairman of the Syuro Council of PKB Gus Dur for his dismissal as Chairman of the Board of Tanfidz DPP PKB. While Secretary-General Muhaimin, Lukman Edy, sued Abdurrahman for not accept his dismissal from the Secretary-General of PKB on the grounds of double positions. PKB Muhaimin also continues his political activities by registering with the Election Commission and open the registration of legislative candidates.
On July 18, 2008, after passing through a series of lengthy legal processes, the Supreme Court's appeal against PKB in the Supreme Court regarding the PKB conflict was rejected. In the verdict of cassation numbered 441 / cassation / Pdt / 2008, the Supreme Court decided the management structure of PKB back to the results of Semarang Conference 2005. Gus Dur remained as Chairman of the Shura Council, and Muhaimin Iskandar as Chairman of the Board of Tanfidz.
