Muhaimin Iskandar is one of the politicians and activists who served as members of the House of Representatives. He has been very active since becoming a student at Gadjah Mada University and a member of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII). Muhaimin is very fond of the field of journalists, even postgraduate took communications management program at a State University in Jakarta.

As a container of his struggle, his political career began when he and his senior Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) co-founded the National Awakening Party (PKB). After becoming Secretary-General (Sekjen) PKB, then he became a member of the House as chairman of the faction. Then he served as Chairman of the Council Tanfidziah PKB period 2002-2007. The father of three children has also led the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) from 1994 to 1997. In PKB itself, Muhaimin had experienced Gus Dur's conflict which was none other than his uncle. PKB Muhaimin on April 14, 2008, officially filed a lawsuit in South Jakarta District Court. Muhaimin sued the Chairman of the Syuro Council of PKB Gus Dur for his dismissal as Chairman of the Board of Tanfidz DPP PKB. While Secretary-General Muhaimin, Lukman Edy, sued Abdurrahman for not accept his dismissal from the Secretary-General of PKB on the grounds of double positions. PKB Muhaimin also continues his political activities by registering with the Election Commission and open the registration of legislative candidates.

On July 18, 2008, after passing through a series of lengthy legal processes, the Supreme Court's appeal against PKB in the Supreme Court regarding the PKB conflict was rejected. In the verdict of cassation numbered 441 / cassation / Pdt / 2008, the Supreme Court decided the management structure of PKB back to the results of Semarang Conference 2005. Gus Dur remained as Chairman of the Shura Council, and Muhaimin Iskandar as Chairman of the Board of Tanfidz.
