Musician Kanye West has officially changed his name to Ye. The 44-year-old musician didn't add a middle or last name, only Ye.

The application for rapper Kanye Omari West's full name to change his name was made in August 2021 in Los Angeles. It wasn't until mid-October this year that High Court Judge Michelle Williams granted the request.

Quoting the Independent, Wednesday (20/10/2021) Kanye West did not reveal in detail the reason for the name change. The man who is now having problems with Kim Kardashian only said the change was for 'personal reasons.

It's just that in 2018, Kanye West had mentioned Ye's name to Big Boy, a radio announcer. It deals with the most commonly used words in the Bible.

"I believe 'ye' is a word commonly used in the Bible. In his book, (Ye) it means you," said Kanye West.

"The change came from Kanye being the only one, only Ye, which means it's a reflection."

Kanye West explains that reflection can take the form of good, bad, confusion, everything that includes him.

"This is a reflection of who we are (as) creatures," he said.

Still in 2018, Kanye West also revealed his plans to change his name to Ye. Not only changing, the father of four children will also inaugurate the name.

"Officially (I'm) known as Kanye West, I'm YE," the rapper tweeted.

Kanye West also named his 8th studio album after Ye. The name is also listed on Twitter for some time.
